Rules
The following rules apply to all LSARRC Road Race Championships (overall club champions, senior and all veteran categories) with effect from the 2001-2002 Championship year.
- Club Championships shall consist of five races from distances of 5 kilometres (k), 5 miles (m), 10k, 10m, half-marathon, 15m, 20m and marathon.
- The Championship year will run from 1st. April to 31st. March.
- For the purposes of the Club Championship a runner's age group shall be determined by
their age on 1st. April in the relevant year. Trophies will be awarded for overall Club
Champions for men and women and also for Champions in the following age categories:-
a) Men - seniors (i.e. under 40), 40-44, 45-49, etc., in five year age groups.
b) Women - seniors (i.e. under 35), 35-39, 40-44, etc., in five year age groups. - Points awarded based on race times and according to Championship Tables.
- To be eligible to count for Club Championships the Championship Secretary must be satisfied that the race is an accurately measured and licenced race. Proof a race meets this rule may be required for acceptance of a race as eligible for the Club Championship.
- At least one counting race must be at (or above) half marathon distance.
- No more than two races at any distance to count.
- Only road races to count for road race championship, i.e. cross-country, track, trail and fell races do not count.
- Only races open to men and / or women club members can count for the Club Championship. Races restricted to veterans only, or races only open to employees of a particular employer do not count.
- The onus is on the athlete to provide proof of time. Where chip timing has been used in a race, a competitor may use the chip time towards their Championship score rather than the gun time.
- Best FIVE scores to count subject to preceding rules, highest total score being declared Champion.
- In the event of a tie the scorer of the single highest score in a counting race will be declared Champion, and if necessary the second highest counting score then third until tie is broken. In the event of athletes tying on overall scores and having five identical scores the Championship will be shared.
