HANDICAP - FIRST OF THE SUMMER COURSE
By the start and finish - Thursday 30th April 2009

The Handicap is held on the last Thursday of each month.   Competitors go off in reverse order of speed with the faster runners chasing the slower ones. Good handicapping means exciting finishes. The competition runs from April one year to March the next and runners gain points according to their position ( first 30 points, second 29 points, third 28 points etc.)   A season's best run scores an extra 2 points. Competitors running for the first time score 1 point and guest do not score points).  Best 9 scores will win the Handicap Plate which is awarded at the Annual Awards Ceremony.  
The first winner of the Handicap Plate was Rob Davis who received his award in June 2003.

The Points Table shows the current leaders. The Table of PBs shows everyone's best time for the course.
Christmas and Midsummer Handicaps often have prizes or socials following.  Thanks to Roy Stevens for the Plate and to race organizer and handicapper Bill Lock and to all who have helped at these races.
Since June 2006 food made by the YMCA has been available for those wishing to stay and socialise after the race at a cost of £2:50.
