Where a handicap was an estimate a runner only qualifies for one point but their handicap for next month will be based on this time and qualify for a full score. A season’s best (SB) earns two bonus points. Please check your statistics on both tables and notify me of any errors.
The summer season on the Lodge Lane course certainly finished with a flourish. There were nine season’s best times and an amazing new women’s course record of 26.45 by Sue. Sue is on a hot streak at present but to better her own record by 67 seconds over the 4.3 miles beggars belief. Sue did decline to give a urine sample at the end but I think her record should still be allowed.
Congratulations to Richard on his win, his times are picking up after his paternity leave, and all the others who ran sbs that were often pbs. Thanks to all for turning out, especially Leyla and Willie for their help at the finish. I hope new member Janet and guests Ope and Steve Myerscough enjoyed their runs..
This summer there’s been a pleasing increase in numbers with the average entry being 21 compared with 15 last year and I hope we retain this new level of interest through the winter. In October we’ll be on the new winter course and everyone starts from a new base time.
Bill.
