| Where a handicap was an estimate for a new or lapsed runner they only score one point but their handicap for next month will be based on this time and qualify for a full score. A season's best earns two bonus points. Please check your statistics on both tables and notify me of any errors. |

Sue does it again! Another appearance in the handicap and another women's record. This time Sue improved her personal best set only last month by 15 seconds in what is, I believe, her first race as a vet forty-five. Congratulations also to Debbie, who in winning the race beat her previous pb by a not inconsiderable 31 seconds, and to Dave Wood who continues to hang on determinedly to top spot in the table by defying the handicapper's best efforts to tie him down. I was impressed to see Mel running after only returning from Christmas in Germany earlier in the day and Neil and Debbie were two others I know made a special effort to be back home for the race. |

Our thanks are due to Dawn for havinga tot of mulled wine and warm mince pie awaiting the finishers, a nice idea to make the Christmas race a little different, and for also arranging the spot prizes and quiz greatly enjoyed by all who went to the Hole in One after the race. Many thanks to finish helpers Terry and Layla and to everyone who took time from their seasonal revelries to turn out on a damp and otherwise cheerless day. Overall I hope you'll agree that it was a very successful evening with probably the closest-ever finish followed by a most enjoyable get together in the pub. |

| Please check both tables particularly carefully this time as they are being rushed out late in the evening to help Tony meet the Gazette's special New Year deadline. |
