| The Gazette of Monday 16th. carried a story
and photos of the race |
"Course records tumbled on October
15th.as a high quality field took on the challenge of our fast five
mile race through rural Fylde. ....The fine autumn day was just what
was needed for record breaking and Salford Harriers Kenyan ace Tarus
Elly took full advantage to set a scorching men's record of 25:01....
Equally exciting was another record breaking run by Blackpool's talented
eighteen year-old Tom Cunningham whose 25:28 in third place trimmed
his own junior record by over a minute....." wrote Race Director
Bill Lock. |
