Lytham St. Anne’s Road Runners’ Club

6:45 pm Saturday 20 May,
The Hastings Club

THE HASTINGS CLUB proved a fine venue for this year’s big night out, the 2006 annual presentation. Around forty attended and for many founder LSARRC members it was a nostalgic occasion as, in its former guise as Lytham Conservative Club, it was the place the Club used to meet and our first presentations were held in the late nineties.

Club chairman Bryan Grundy introduced the evening and the guest presenter, club president Michel Jack, M.P. and after the presentation guests enjoyed a splendid buffet and disco in a lively party atmosphere. Our thanks are due to Nigel Thompson for arranging such a memorable evening’s entertainment. Bill Lock

Mike Crowe Trophy

Emily Dennis was thefirst winner of a new award, a stylish etched glass trophy, presented by his family in memory of the late Michael Crowe who died last September. As Mike was himself a prolific competitor the trophy will, most appropriately, be awarded annually to the member who competes in the most races.
